Pedestrian, 23, reports injuries from Nimitz accident

Bryan Cheplic, spokesman for the city Emergency Services Department, said a 23-year-old man was taken to The Queen's Medical Center in serious condition after he reported being hit by a vehicle near the intersection of Sand Island Access Road and Nimitz Highway this morning.

City paramedics were dispatched on the call at 5:39 a.m, Cheplic said

About 45 minutes earlier, an elderly woman was critically injured less than a mile away when she was hit by a city bus while crossing Dillingham Boulevard near Pu'uhale Road in Kalihi.
