Bishop to unveil five-year strategic plan Feb. 9-10

Bishop Larry Silva will unveil a five-year pastoral plan for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Honolulu, during two services Feb. 9-10.Among the top items of interest in "Witness to Jesus: Diocesan Road Map for Pastoral, Program and Facility Needs" — the strategic plan that will be released at the 5 p.m. Mass Feb. 9 at Christ the King in Maui and 10 a.m. Mass Feb. 10 at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Peace on O'ahu — are plans to open a diocesan Youth Ministry office.
It will also focus on: new parishes, facilities and management of land assets; repair and maintenance of church and school facilities; leadership development of clergy, lay staff and volunteers; youth and young adult programs; faith formation and homelessness issues.
