High-surf advisory for Oahu's east-facing shores

Advertiser Staff

Much-larger-than-usual surf continues to pound away at east-facing shores on O'ahu and, as a result, a high-surf advisory remains in effect.

The National Weather Service is calling for surf of 6 feet to 9 feet today along east-facing shores.

Elsewhere, the surf should be 4 feet to 6 feet along north-facing shores; 1 foot to 3 feet along south-facing shores and 2 feet to 4 feet along west-facing shores.

Short-period trade wind swells will produce rough surf along east-facing shores, where surf heights will remain above advisory levels through the weekend. A small northwest swell will prevail through the middle of next week.
