Online voting for Hawaii Music Awards ends Monday

Advertiser Staff

Online voting closes Monday for the 2008 Hawaii Music Awards, a people's choice competition honoring Island music-makers in a myriad of genres, including Hawaiian, rock and jazz.

Balloting, open to anyone around the world, began last Jan. 24 and now is in the home stretch. Anyone can log on, at hawaiimusicawards.com, with one vote possible daily per e-mail address.

The Hawaii Music Awards, now in the 11th year, will be held March 15 in a banquet show at the Willows Restaurant. The Web site also is taking reservations, $50 per person.

As part of the sponsoring Hawaii Music Foundation mission to honor show biz achievement past and present, the Legacy Awards — in its third season — will be held March 12 at the Royal Hawaiian's Monarch Room. Admission is $150 per person; reservations can be made at the Web site.
