FUGATE "DON" CARTY, died Sept. 27, 2007. Born in Pineville, Ky. Longtime Straub Clinic obstetrician/gynecologist who was instrumental in the planning and construction of Straub Hospital; president of the Honolulu Obstetrical and Gynecological Society and chief of Obstetrical and Gynecological Service at Kapi'olani Medical Center for Women and Children. Survived by wife, Desiree; daughters, Andrea Bloomer, Melinda Dodge and Diana Carty; sons, Patrick, Timothy and Jeffrey; four grandchildren; brother, Dr. Raymond.
