High surf advisory still in effect for east-facing shores

A high surf advisory remains in effect for all east-facing shores on O'ahu. surf along those shores is expected to remain at 6 to 9 feet throughout the day, the National Weather Service said.

Elsewhere, the surf is expected to reach 6 to 9 feet; 2 to 4 feet along west-facing shores; and 1 to 3 feet along south-facing shores.

A short-period trade wind swell will produce rough surf along east-facing shores, where surf heights will remain above advisory levels through the weekend. A small northwest swell will prevail through the middle of next week.
