Rain on the horizon through the weekend

Moderate to fresh trade winds will continue across the state through the weekend fueled by a strong high pressure area north of the state, according to the National Weather Service.The wet trade wind weather is expected to persist through Sunday, forecasters said.
Some of the showers may result in locally heavy rainfall over portions of the windward side of the Big Island and on Maui today.
