Iolani, Honokaa get top seeds in boys state soccer

The 'Iolani and Honoka'a High School boys soccer teams received the top seeds for next week's Hawai'i High School Athletic Association boys state soccer championships.

'Iolani (9-1-2), the Interscholastic League of Honolulu champion, is the top seed in Division I. Honoka'a (11-4), the Big Island Interscholastic Federation champion, is the top seed in Division II.

Two-time defending state champion Punahou didn't qualify for this year's tournament. This is also the first year of the Division II tournament.

First-round play for both divisions begin on Wednesday at Waipi'o Peninsula Soccer Park.

The championship games are on Saturday.
