CBKB: Missouri reinstates suspended forwards

Associated Press

COLUMBIA, Mo. — Missouri coach Mike Anderson reinstated forwards Leo Lyons and Marshall Brown, two of the five players who were suspended indefinitely earlier this week, in time for today's game against No. 22 Kansas State.

The school made the announcement in a one-paragraph statement before the game.

Lyons, who has been a starter most of the season, and Brown, a top reserve, were suspended for violating team rules following an altercation outside a local nightclub Jan. 26. Guard Stefhon Hannah, who also was suspended, had his jaw broken and is likely out for the rest of his senior season.

Jason Horton, the team's starting point guard, was arrested on Friday and charged with third-degree misdemeanor assault stemming from the incident.

Lyons, Brown, Horton, Hannah and backup forward Darryl Butterfield all were held out of Wednesday's four-point loss to Nebraska. Hannah is at home in Chicago recovering from his injury and the four healthy suspended players watched in street clothes on the bench.

Missouri had an eight-player roster against Nebraska.
