Tennis: Japan, Croatia tied at 1 in Fed Cup

MIKI, Japan Akiko Morigami defeated Nika Ozegovic in three sets today and Japan and Croatia split the first two matches in their Fed Cup world group II tie.Morigami recovered from a slow start to win the first singles match, defeating Ozegovic 2-6, 7-5, 6-1.
Croatia's Jelena Kostanic Tosic came back in the second singles match to defeat Japan's Aiko Nakamura 6-3, 3-6, 6-3.
The reverse singles will be played on Sunday. The winner will advance to a playoff tie to be played April 26-27.
The nations are meeting in a Fed Cup tie for the first time in 10 years. In 1998, Iva Majoli led Croatia to a 4-1 win.
