Eastern shores under high surf advisory

Advertiser Staff

The eastern shores of Oahu, Kauai, Maui, Molokai and the Big Island are under a high surf advisory until 6 p.m. tonight, the National Weather Service said.

Strong trade winds are continuing to generate large and rough surf along eastern shores, raising surf to 6 to 9 feet.

Surf along north-facing shores will be 6 to 8 feet today, and surf along west shores will be 3 to 5 feet. Southern shores will see surf 1 to 3 feet.

Advisory level surf may remain along eastern shores through midweek, with a small northwest swell also expected to arrive in the middle of the week.
