Flash flood warning downgraded to watch for Big Island

The flash flood warning has been canceled for the Big Island but a flash flood watch remains in effect until 2 p..m. for all of Hawaii, the National Weather Service said in a released statement at 1:20 a.m. today.

Heavy rains and flooding have diminished on the Big Island, but runoff is still occurring and streams will remain high for several hours, the National Weather Service said.

Highway 11 on the Big Island remains cloed at Kawa Flats near Mile Post 58.
