Tennis: China defeats France to reach Fed Cup semis

BEIJING — China reached the Fed Cup semifinals for the first time today when Yan Zi and Zhen Jie defeated Nathalie Dechy and Virginie Razzano in doubles 7-5, 7-6 (5) to give China a 3-2 victory over France.China led 2-0, but Razzano and Dechy won their reverse singles matches to even the score at 2-2. Razzano defeated Li Na 4-6, 6-2, 6-4 and Dechy beat Yan 6-3, 6-2.
Dechy played as a replacement for Alize Cornet, and Yan played in place of Peng Shuai, who left after Saturday's match to play in Europe.
