Big Island's break from heavy rains may not last long

The extremely rainy conditions over the Big Island appear to have taken a temporary break, the latest National Weather Service forecast said, but nearly all the ingredients remain in place for more downpours to occur.Because of that, the National Weather Service is keeping a flash flood watch in effect.
Overall, Super Bowl Sunday looks like a day made for pulling up to the TV and settling in to see if the Patriots can make history by becoming the first team in NFL history to go 19-0, and also to watch which commercials will make for watercooler talk at work Monday morning.
Today: A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 80. East wind around 18 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
