'Iolani, Honoka'a get top seeds in boys state soccer

JN AUTOMOTIVE GROUP/ HAWAI'I HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION BOYS STATE SOCCER CHAMPIONSHIPS

'Iolani and Honoka'a received the top seeds for this week's JN Automotive Group/Hawai'i High School Athletic Association boys state soccer championships.

The Raiders (9-1-2), the Interscholastic League of Honolulu champions, are the top seed in Division I. The Dragons (11-4), the Big Island Interscholastic Federation champions, are the top seed in Division II.

Two-time defending state champion Punahou didn't qualify for this year's tournament. This is also the first year of the Division II tournament.

First-round play for both divisions begins Wednesday at Waipi'o Peninsula Soccer Park.

The championship games are Saturday.
