Kauai's Wainiha area to get water back on tonight

Advertiser Staff

Kaua'i County water officials expect to complete the repairs tonight to a water line that broke in Wainiha and restore water service to the area, which has experienced little or no water service since Sunday.

However, once the water is restored, the county Department of Water is urging residents to conserve water because storage tanks are low after the break.

Two water tankers with potable water were sent to the Wainiha area. One was set up about 200 yards up the road from the Wainiha General Store and the other is at the Hanalei Colony Resort. Residents should bring their own water containers and help themselves to the water.

Residents with questions may call the department at 808-245-5455.
