Chicago actress to offer improv classes

Shannon Winpenny, who spent the last decade performing and studying with some of Chicago's best known improv teachers and groups, is back in Honolulu and will offer an eight-week improvisation session beginning Feb. 20.Classes will be held from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at 1121 Nu'uanu Ave., second floor. Registration fee is $175.

Winpenny studied and performed at such theaters as Second City, IO (ImprovOlympic) and the Annoyance and also toured across the country and Canada.
Her focus on improvisation will offer tips on enhancing acting skills, enabling actors to improve character development, confidence and stage or screen presence.
Some training is desired but not required.
