UH men's basketball to play at UC Riverside Feb. 23

Advertiser Staff

The University of Hawai'i men's basketball team will play a nonconference game on the road at UC Riverside on Feb. 23, it was announced today.

The Rainbow Warriors were not one of the 28 teams selected to participate in the nationally televised ESPNU BracketBusters games.

Hawai'i and UC Riverside were part of the 100-team pool eligible for the 14 BracketBusters games. The teams that were not selected for national television were paired together based primarily on geographical location.

UC Riverside is currently 5-15 overall and in eighth place in the Big West Conference at 2-7. Hawai'i is 10-11 and tied for third place in the Western Athletic Conference at 6-3.

The game will be part of a two-game road trip for the 'Bows. They will play a WAC game at Fresno State on Feb. 20 before traveling to Riverside, Calif., for the nonconference game.

Three WAC teams were selected for the nationally-televised games: Utah State will host UC Santa Barbara; Boise State will host Siena; Nevada will play at Southern Illinois.
