Road work scheduled on Maui this week

Starting this morning there will be single-lane closures on Honoapiilani Highway in the Lahaina-bound direction from Ma'alaea Harbor (Mile Point 7.0) to Ukumehame Beach Park (Mile Point 11.0) nightly through Friday morning from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for trenching work for fiber optic cable installations on Maui.During these closures, traffic will be contraflowed through the area in the remaining open lane, the State Department of Transportation said.
The DOT also announced fiber optic cable installations will close one to two lanes on Pi'ilani Highway in the north-bound direction from Kanani Road to Kaiwahine Street today through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
