High surf advisory continues for east shores

Advertiser Staff

A high surf advisory continues until 6 p.m. today for eastern shorelines, the National Weather Service said.

Surf along east shores will be 5 to 8 feet today as the short-period trad wind swells continue to linger at or just slightly above the 8-feet advisory levels. A new northwest swell may boost surf to near advisory levels for the north and west shores of Oahu on Thursday. The swell is expected to peak Thursday night and start lowering Friday. A moderate northwest swell is expected to roll in Sunday.

Today, surf along northern shores will be 3 to 5 feet while southern and western shores will see surf 1 to 3 feet.
