Poets getting versed for Thursday round of HawaiiSlam

The poetry slam season will roll on at 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the Hawaiian Hut,

The ongoing monthly First Thursday competition leads up to HawaiiSlam finals in April that will determine who represents Hawai'i in the 2008 National Poetry Slam.

Tshaka Menelik Imhotep Campbell, a Londoner of Jamaican descent, will be the featured slammer. A poet for 10 years, Tshaka was a member of the 2004 Nuyorican Slam Team, the 2005 San Francisco Slam Team and the 2006-07 Hollywood Slam team.

Kealoha hosts, with live painters, massages in the lounge and a guest DJ at the turntables.
