Volunteers sought for planting at new dog park

Advertiser Staff

Volunteers are being sought for a Planting Day at the Hawaii Kai Dog Park, currently under construction, from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday.

Hui 'Ilio will be planting flowering plants, provided by the state Department of Parks and Recreation's Division of Urban Forestry, along the outside of the park's fence line.

Hui 'Ilio is a nonprofit organization dedicated to establishing a dog park in Hawai'i Kai.

Drinks and refreshments will be provided. Volunteers are asked to bring sunscreen, a hat or visor, work gloves, sunglasses and closed shoes.

The park's opening is slated for this spring.
