UH: Softball team plays Chaminade Friday, Saturday

The 15th-ranked University of Hawaii softball team opens its season with a three-game scrimmages against Chaminade Friday and Saturday at Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium.Friday's game is 6 p.m. and Saturday's doubleheader starts at noon.
Five seniors Kate Robinson, Kaulana Gould, Valana Manuma, Jessica Morton, and Brandi Peiler will lead the Rainbow Wahine into battle. The Rainbow Wahine are the pre-season pick to win the Western Athletic Conference title and Robinson was picked as the preseason WAC Player of the Year.
Robinson had a record-setting junior year in which she set school single-season records with 19 home runs and 72 RBIs while hitting .358. As a pitcher, she went 17-1 with a 2.01 ERA.
Admission to the games are free.
