Films for, about girls at UH-Manoa in March, April

In honor of Women's History Month, the University of Hawai'i Kids First! Film Festival presents a free mini-film-fest celebrating the achievements, challenges and adventures of girls. All are welcome at the festival.

The GRLS r GR8! Mini-Film-Fest will screen high-quality, family-oriented films on four Sundays in March and April, with free door prizes at each screening: 3 p.m. March 2, 9, April 6, 13 at UH-Manoa Art Auditorium. All films are shown free of charge.

A project of the Coalition for Quality Children's Media, Kids First! films are free of gratuitous violence; race, gender, or religious bias; inappropriate content; and condescension towards children. Age-appropriate groupings of classic, independent, feature and short films entertain through a balance of animation and live action, plus varied themes from different cultures.

Last summer's Kids First! Film Festival at the University of Hawai'i-Manoa drew over 1,300 children, parents and grandparents, and will make its return to the UH-Manoa campus again this summer.
