Bishop Museum library, archives to cut hours

Advertiser Staff

The Bishop Museum library and archives will cut its public hours by one day because of a temporary staff shortage.

Starting Feb. 18, the library will no longer be open Tuesdays. New hours are Wednesdays through Fridays, from noon to 4 p.m., and Saturdays, from 9 a.m. to noon.

The library has more than 40,000 volumes, with an emphasis on the cultural and natural history of the Pacific. It also subscribes to more than 1,000 periodicals. The archives house a vast collection of unpublished material, including manuscripts, photographs, art, maps and recordings.

For more information, call the library at 848-4148 or the archives at 848-4182.
