Flash flood warning for O'ahu canceled

The National Weather Service has canceled a flash flood warning for O'ahu.

The warning had been issued shortly before 7 p.m. At 9:45 p.m. the weather service reported that heavy rains and flooding have subsided but that moderate rainfall was still falling along the Ko'olau Range. Streams will remain high for several hours.

At 6:42 p.m., weather radar showed heavy rain across the Ko'olau Range. Rain was falling in excess of 5 inches per hour near Pacific Palisades, and the area of heavy rain was nearly stationary, the westher service said.

A flash flood warning means flash flooding is imminent or occurring in streams and low-lying areas.
