Robotic whale exhibit coming to Bishop Museum

Advertiser Staff

"Whales: Wonders of the Ocean," a traveling exhibit by WonderWorks, is coming May 17 to Bishop Museum.

The exhibit, which runs until Sept. 21, tells the 54-million-year-old story of whales, from their early life on land to their journey back to the sea. It includes six life-size robotic whales: a Baby Gray whale, humpback whale, an orca, static heads of a Northern Right whale and a sperm whale.

The exhibit also features several participatory stations where visitors can learn to identify whales the way scientists do: by their songs, their markings, their fins and tails, and their behavior.
