Richard B. Hays, a New Testament scholar, will present a free series of talk on "Israel's Scriptures through the Eyes of the Gospel Writers," part of the 29th Britt Lecture Series.

The lectures are at 7 p.m., Feb. 15-17 at First United Methodist Church, 1020 South Beretania St.

A one-hour discussion session will follow each lecture.

Hays is the chair of the biblical division at Duke Divinity School in North Carolina and author of "The Moral Vision of the New Testament: Community, Cross, New Creations."

Also, there will be a free workshop at 9 a.m., Feb. 18, also at the church.
