Kamehameha, Iolani reach Division I boys soccer title game

Kamehameha outshot second-seeded Kamehameha-Maui, 5-3, tonight for a 2-1 win in the semifinals of the JN Automotive Group/HHSAA Boys State Division I Soccer Championships at the Waipi'o Peninsula Soccer Stadium.

Kamehameha plays top-seeded 'Iolani at 8 p.m. tomorrow for the championship. 'Iolani defeated fourth-seeded Mililani, 3-2, in overtime.

In the Kamehameha-Kamehameha-Maui match, the teams settled for penalty kicks after 80 minutes of regulation play and two 10-minute overtime periods.

Kamehameha senior midfielder Kimo Komomua, junior defender Kainoa Kahui, senior midfielder Zane Dydasco, junior forward Gareth Gomez and sophomore midfielder Ryan Ho made their kicks, and goalkeeper Micah Swain made one save.

Kamehameha-Maui senior midfielder Cody Felipe, senior midfielder/defender JJ Ledesma and freshman midfieler Ryan Felipe made their kicks. Kamehameha-Maui didn't take their final kick.
