Hawaii Kai board seeks public input on bus changes

The Hawai'i Kai Neighborhood Board's Committee on Transportation will meet from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Hawai'i Kai Public Library, 249 Lunalilo Home Road, in hopes of gathering public feedback on recent bus route changes.

The public is invited to attend and discuss the East O'ahu bus route changes that took effect in December. The committee will develop recommendations on how to improve or restore TheBus services in East O'ahu.

Among the Hawaii' Kai and East O'ahu concerns that will be discussed are:

• Reduction of service on the No. 80A Hawai'i Kai-University of Hawai'i express route, including the need for service on non-instructional days and restoration of East-West Road and Maile Way bus stops on campus.

• Reduction of service to Kalama Valley residents.

• Effectiveness of the new No. 1L Downtown/Hawai'i Kai Limited route.

• Effectiveness of the new circulator routes in Hawai'i Kai.

• Plans and options to partially restore Hind Drive service in 'Aina Haina and the effects on Hawai'i Kai riders.

Those attending the meeting are asked to park on the street, as the library will be open for regular patrons until 7 p.m. The meeting room doors will open at 5:45 p.m
