Governor to 'talk story' March 4 on Turtle Bay

Advertiser Staff

Gov. Linda Lingle will host a public "talk story" meeting to discuss a proposal to purchase the 850-acre Turtle Bay property, including 5 miles of pristine coastline on O'ahu's North Shore.

The meeting will be held March 4 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Kahuku High School cafeteria.

Since the governor raised the idea in her State of the State Address on Jan. 22, she has been in discussions with residents, community leaders, legislators, conservationists, nonprofit groups and the private sector on how to purchase the property and protect the natural resources and rural lifestyle of the area.

The meeting will allow North Shore residents and community leaders to express ideas about the proposal.
