Chaminade beats Hilo

Marko Kolaric had 18 points and 14 rebounds as Chaminade rallied past Hawai'i-Hilo, 69-56, last night in a Pacific West Conference men's basketball game at the UHH gym.

Mike Green added 14 points and nine rebounds for the conference-leading Silverswords (17-6, 12-2), who trailed 29-24 at the half.

Sam Wilhoite led the Vulcans (10-9, 6-6) with 14 points.

ELSEWHERE IN PACWEST

BYU-HAWAI'I 101, HAWAI'I PACIFIC 62: Trenson Akana scored 25 points, including six 3-pointers, and the visiting Seasiders (12-6, 7-4) shot 61 percent (35 of 57) from the field to sink the Sea Warriors (5-16, 2-10) at Blaisdell Arena. Logan Wolf led HPU with 13 points.

UH-Hilo 99, Chaminade 70: Nesha Kimitete scored 17 points as the host Vulcans (7-12, 7-5) roared back in the second half, hitting 23 of 36 from the field to outscore the Silverswords (0-21, 0-14) 62-36 after intermission. Simrim Herington led CU with 17 points.

HAWAI'I PACIFIC 81, BYU-HAWAI'I 67: Ashley Jenkins scored 21 points as the host Sea Warriors (6-15, 6-6) beat the Seasiders (4-16, 4-7) at Blaisdell Arena. Madison Kite led BYUH with 15 points.
