Light trade winds, some rain expected this week

A ridge of high pressure just to the north will maintain light to moderate trade winds through the work week, according to the National Weather Service in Honolulu.

Expect some showers in windward and mauka areas throughout the week, but rainfall amounts should be light, the weather service said. Leeward areas will be mostly clear.

Here is how the weather is shaping up for the next couple of days:

Today: Mostly sunny with isolated showers. Highs around 78. East winds 10 mph to 20 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Tonight: Partly cloudy with isolated showers. Lows 64 to 71. Northeast winds 10 mph to 15 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny with isolated showers. Highs 76 to 81. Northeast winds 10 mph to 15 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Tuesday night: Partly cloudy with isolated showers. Lows 64 to 71. Northeast winds 10 mph to 15 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny with isolated showers. Highs 75 to 80. East winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Wednesday night: Partly cloudy with isolated showers. Lows 64 to 73. Northeast winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Thursday: Sunny with isolated showers. Highs 76 to 81. East winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Thursday night: Partly cloudy with isolated showers. Lows 63 to 71. Northeast winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.
