CBKB: Candace Parker to start for Tennessee tonight

Associated Press

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Candace Parker will start for top-ranked Tennessee when it faces fifth-ranked Rutgers on Monday night.

The 6-foot-4 All-American bruised her left knee Thursday in an 87-64 win over Mississippi State.

Team doctors listed Parker as day-to-day after performing tests on Friday. Parker practiced Sunday wearing a sleeve on her knee.

Also cleared to play were Alberta Auguste, who aggravated a previous shoulder injury against the Lady Bulldogs, and Angie Bjorklund, who broke her nose in that game.
