Shambala Buddhism plans free talk

A free talk, "Making Friends with My Worst Enemy, ME!" will be held at 7 p.m. Feb. 29 at the Kailua Shambhala Meditation Center.

Also, a two-day program, "Taking Refuge in the Three Jewels of Buddhism," will be March 1-2, exploring what it means to take refuge in the three jewels (Buddha, Dharma, Sangha) and to become a Buddhist. Fee: $75 (includes lunches and teas). There will be discussion, guided meditation and interviews, with a Refuge Ceremony.

The events are facilitated by Acharya Allyn Lyon, a senior Shambhala Buddhist teacher and resident Acharya for Tepotzlan, Mexico and Los Angeles. She has served as director of Shambhala Mountain Center and taught at Vajradhatu Seminary.
