Oscar-nominated shorts screen Friday at Doris Duke Theatre

Sean Shodahl, Hawai'i International Film Festival programmer, and Gina Caruso, film curator at the Honolulu Academy of Arts, will present a two-hour program of Oscar-nominated live action and animated shorts at 7:30 p.m. Friday, a Friends of Film Friday event.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for a pre-screening reception. Shodahl will present the Oscar nominated shorts and will lead a q&a discussion after the screening.

Friends of Film Friday offers exclusive screenings of international, independent and restored classic films. Films are announced a week before each screening, and membership in the screening program is limited to 280 people.

Several membership packages are offered. Individual tickets, $15, are available on a first-come, first-seated basis.

Information and memberships are available online at www.friendsoffilmfriday.com or at the Doris Duke Theatre.
