Emergency responders were sent early this morning to the intersection of River and North Beretania streets in Downtown Honolulu to aid a man who was seriously injured when a refrigerator fell on him.

According to initial reports from the scene, the man was attempting to carry a refrigerator on his back by himself when he lost control of it.

He was taken to The Queen's Medical Center.

Crews were sent out on the call about 1:25 a.m.
