Advertiser Staff

Police today arrested 41-year-old robbery suspect who escaped Monday night while being booked at the Wahiawa police station.

Tobias Debardeleben was arrested at 8:30 a.m. on Farrington Highway and Kaukonahua Road in Waialua.

A patrol officer spotted the heavily tattooed Debardeleben walking on Kaukonahua Road, police said. Debardeleben ran into nearby brush where he was found hiding by police.

Honolulu Police Department Internal Affairs detectives are investigating how Debardeleben escaped while being booked Monday night after being arrested for second-degree robbery in Hale'iwa.
