North Shore benefit for Jeannie Chesser planned Saturday

Advertiser Staff

Jeannie Chesser, a surfer who has lived in Hawai'i for most of her life, is fighting cancer. Proceeds from an event noon to 6 p.m. Saturday at Waimea Valley Audubon Center will go to a fund to help with Chesser's health-related expenses.

A raffle and auction will feature boards ridden by professional surfers, new boards donated by surf shops and shapers, beach clothing, jewelry, original art, books and photography.

To make a donation, an account has been established at the First Hawaiian Bank Kahala, 1348 Hunakai St., Honolulu 96816. The account name is "Da Friends of Jeannie Chesser."
