Disney animator gives free lectures Feb. 26 at KCC

John Edgar Park, lead character technical director at Disney Animation Studios, will present two free lectures Feb. 26 at Kapi'olani Community College.

"Carl the Robot, Doris the Bowler Hat and a Boy Named Wilbur: Character Rigging for Feature Animation" will be presented from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in KOA 102.

"From Concept to Render: The Creation of a Feature Animation Character" will be presented from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in KOA 102.

Park is currently working on "Rapunzel." Before working at Disney, he was at Sony Pictures Imageworks. His film credits include "Meet the Robinons," "Bolt," "Spiderman 2," "Polar Express" and "Matrix 2."
