TIME FOR A SWEET ESCAPE

MANGO'S THE SOUL OF THIS LIBATION

Valentine's Day is the perfect occasion for a Sweet Escape — the drink, that is. It's a new cocktail invented by celebrity mixologist Tony Abou-Ganim for the National Mango Board.

Sweet Escape: Combine 1 ounce pureed fresh mango, 1 ounce vodka, 1 ounce fresh lemon juice (about half a lemon, squeezed), 1 ounce simple syrup (1 to 1 ratio of sugar to water, briefly boiled, then chilled), 2 ounces chilled soda water and a handful of ice. Shake until blended and strain into an ice-filled Collins glass. Garnish with a fan of mango slices and a spiral of lemon. (If you like, skip the vodka and use an additional ounce of soda water.)
