Garage sale set to benefit St. Francis Hospice

The Hawaii Chapter of World Wings International, the philanthropic organization of former Pan Am flight attendants, will hold its third annual "Not Your Ordinary Garage Sale" from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at Noelani Elementary School Cafeteria, 2655 Woodlawn Drive in Manoa, as a benefit for St. Francis Hospice.

There will be a wide assortment of new and gently used clothing for men, women and children, fashion accessories, household goods and kitchenware, jewelry, books, CDs, DVDs, airline memorabilia, collectibles and more.

Proceeds from the garage sale will go towards renovations of St. Francis Hospice's two inpatient hospice facilities in Nu'uanu and 'Ewa.

Last year's garage sale raised $8,000. The Hawaii Chapter of World Wings International has supported St. Francis Hospice since 1990. Since then, the organization has donated nearly $37,000 to the hospice program that provides physical, psycho-social and spiritual support to terminally ill patients and their loved ones in the home setting and at two inpatient facilities.

World Wings International, Inc. is the philanthropic organization of former flight attendants of Pan American World Airways. There are approximately 2,200 members of World Wings International in 35 chapters throughout the United States and around the world and unaffiliated Members at Large. The Hawai'i chapter has nearly 70 members.
