LIHU'E
Youth Symphony to give free performance

Advertiser Staff

The Hawaii Youth Symphony will give a free performance at 7 p.m. Monday at Kauai War Memorial Convention Hall.

Young musicians in Youth Symphony I will share the stage for this performance with Kaua'i actress and singer Leinani Springer.

The concert will include contemporary, Hawaiian and classical music.

The Youth Symphony I is composed of 88 students from O'ahu, Maui, Kaua'i and the Big Island — top performers among the symphony's 400 statewide members.

No tickets are needed for the free concert. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and there are no reserved seats. For more information, contact the symphony at 808-941-9706 or visit www.HiYouthSymphony.org.

The young musicians will also perform for more than 1,000 Kaua'i students in an educational "Listen & Learn" at 10 a.m. Tuesday, for which reservations are required.
