Habitat for Humanity looking for 31 families

Habitat for Humanity Leeward O'ahu is looking for low-income families to partner with to build affordable homes.

The volunteer house-building organization has started its family selection process for a 31-home area subdivision scheduled to break ground in September.

Qualifying families who are ready to meet the challenge and responsibility of homeownership are encouraged to attend one of three information sessions scheduled for next month:

March 10 — 5 to 7 p.m., Kamehameha Schools Community Learning Center in Nanakuli; March 15 — 10 a.m. to noon, Wai'anae District Park, Multipurpose Room; March 24 — 5 to 7 p.m., Kamehameha Schools Community Learning Center in Nanakuli.
