Track: Ethiopia's Bekele sets indoor 2 miles mark

BIRMINGHAM, England — Kenenisa Bekele of Ethiopia set a world record for 2 miles today at the Norwich Union Grand Prix.
He was timed in 8 minutes, 4.35 seconds.
Bekele reduced the record by 0.34 seconds. The previous mark of 8:04.69 was set by Kenya's Haile Gebrselassie at the same National Indoor Arena in February 2003.
