Makaha drowning victim identified

The Honolulu Medical Examiner's office today identified the man who died Sunday after being pulled from the water at Makaha Beach as Jerry Scoles, 57, of Wai'anae.

Scoles was pronounced dead at the Waianae Coast Comprehensive Health Center at 12:30 p.m. Sunday.

An autopsy listed cause and manner of death as asphyxia due to drowning from a snorkeling accident.
