Big surf likely this weekend on north, south shores

Advertiser Staff

Surf along north-facing shores is expected to diminish today to heights of 7 feet to 10 feet, according to the National Weather Service surf forecast.

Surf along west-facing shores drops to 4 feet to 7 feet while east-facing shores will see surf of 1 foot to 2 feet.

Surf along south-facing shores will be 1 foot to 2 feet today, forecasters said.

Another northwest swell on the heels of the present swell will roll in tonight, peaking tomorrow near advisory levels, then slowly lowering through the weekend. Yet another slightly larger northwest swell is expected to arrive Sunday night or early Monday. In addition, an out-of-season south swell is expected to arrive by late Saturday and possibly reach advisory levels Sunday and Monday.
