KAHUKU
Turtle Bay purchase proposal to be discussed

Advertiser Staff

Gov. Linda Lingle will host a community meeting to discuss the purchase of Turtle Bay property from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. March 4 at Kahuku High & Intermediate School.

Since introducing the idea, the government has seen incredible community support for the plan, including at Senate committee hearings, Lingle said in a press release.

Her proposal calls for the purchase of 850 acres of land, including five miles of coastline, on O'ahu's North Shore.

Lingle invites all members of the community to voice their opinion or contact legislators or her office.

"Together we have a once-in-a-generation opportunity, and an obligation to preserve this treasure," Lingle said.
