WAIPAHU
Earth Day recycling will take your bulky items

Advertiser Staff

Aloha 'Aina Earth Day's 37th Recycling Community Clean-Up Project will have participation from all seven schools within the Waipahu public school complex area on March 1.

The public can dispose of their bulky items by dropping them off or, for greater Waipahu area residents only, calling for curbside pickup service. The drop-off point is the parking lot of Waipahu Intermediate School at 94-455 Farrington Highway from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on that Saturday.

Proceeds from the recycling effort will benefit participating schools. Everything from scrap metal to green waste, car batteries to telephone books will be accepted.

For curbside pickup information, call Clarence Nishihara at 728-1008 or Rene Mansho at 306-1876 through Feb. 29, the day before the event. Pickup requests should be limited to greater Waipahu.
