Surf on the rise along Oahu's north, west shores

Advertiser Staff

Surf along north-facing shores is on the way up and wave faces should reach 8 to 12 feet through today, the National Weather Service said.

Surf along west-facing shores is also on the rise and should hit 4 to 8 feet through today, forecasters said.

Surf along east-facing shores will be 1 to 2 feet while surf along south-facing shores will be 1 to 2.

A northwest swell will build slightly today, peak this afternoon, then gradually lower through the weekend. A much larger northwest swell will build late Sunday, peak late Monday, then slowly lower through Tuesday. An out of season south swell will build late Saturday, possibly reach advisory levels Sunday and Monday, and slowly lower through Tuesday.
